LumiPic LoRA expands SDR-to-HDR conversion to Qwen, Klein models coming
Oumoumad's LumiPic LoRA converts 8-bit SDR images to float-valued HDR EXR files for post-production grading, with Qwen support live and Klein Base 4B/9B versions in development.
LumiPic is a LoRA from oumoumad—creator of the LTX motion deblur LoRA—that converts standard dynamic range images to high dynamic range EXR files. The weights shipped on HuggingFace weeks ago with support for Qwen models; Klein Base 4B and 9B versions are in development. The output is float-valued and carries tonal range well beyond what 8-bit SDR can encode, preserving highlight and shadow detail that would otherwise clip.
The practical value extends beyond HDR display. Even for SDR delivery, the extra headroom in the EXR intermediate simplifies exposure and color grading in post—you can adjust highlights or lift shadows without banding or clipping artifacts. That matters for practitioners who generate images as starting points for compositing, VFX work, or print workflows where tonal control is critical. ComfyUI workflows are included in the HuggingFace files tab, and a demo video walks through the conversion process on overexposed skies and underexposed foregrounds. Klein Base 4B and 9B support will expand compatibility to smaller open-weight models that run on consumer hardware.
