Sberbank builds AI-native ERP to replace SAP by January 2027
Sberbank is developing a microservices-based ERP platform with embedded GigaChat AI agents, aiming for full production rollout in January 2027 after three years of internal development.

Sberbank is building its own enterprise resource planning platform from scratch, with the first mass production deployment scheduled for January 2027. The project, underway for roughly three years, is sized to replace the bank's SAP footprint and is designed around microservices and GigaChat, Sber's large language model. Deputy chairman and CFO Taras Skvortsov told CNews that the bank rejected the idea of creating "SAP 2.0"—instead, the goal is a unified full-cycle product rather than a patchwork of separate software modules.
The platform embeds AI agents that will autonomously manage finance, procurement, and logistics workflows by analyzing context and triggering actions without manual intervention. Sber frames the architecture as a hedge against external supply-chain risk and a foundation for what it calls "autonomous business" operations. Internal rollout begins in January 2027, with a broader commercial release planned for later that year.
