Anthropic opens Seoul office, expands Claude partnerships across Korea
The Claude maker establishes a South Korean presence and announces enterprise, startup, and research partnerships in the region.
Anthropic is betting on Korea as a strategic AI market, opening a Seoul office and signing partnerships with local enterprises, startups, and research institutions using Claude.
The company announced the move on June 18, marking its latest international expansion as demand for Claude grows outside the United States. Korea has emerged as a competitive AI development hub, with both domestic tech giants and a wave of generative-AI startups racing to deploy large language models in production. Anthropic described the partnerships as spanning "some of the most ambitious deployments of Claude," though the company did not disclose specific customer names, use cases, or integration scale.
The Seoul office joins Anthropic's existing locations in London and San Francisco, signaling a push into the Asia-Pacific region where OpenAI, Google, and local players like Naver and Kakao are already competing for enterprise contracts.
