Samsung rolls out ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to 270,000+ employees
OpenAI's largest enterprise rollout to date brings ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to Samsung Electronics employees worldwide, the company announced this week.

Samsung Electronics has deployed ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex across its global workforce, marking one of OpenAI's largest enterprise AI rollouts to date. The deployment, announced June 21, gives Samsung's 270,000+ employees worldwide access to OpenAI's flagship conversational AI and code-generation tools through an enterprise license. The rollout spans semiconductor fabrication, consumer electronics, and mobile device divisions.
ChatGPT Enterprise offers enhanced data privacy controls, unlimited high-speed GPT-4 access, and administrative tools for managing team deployments. Codex, OpenAI's code-generation model, powers natural-language-to-code translation and is designed to accelerate software development workflows. Enterprise ChatGPT deployments typically include API access, custom model fine-tuning options, and data residency guarantees—capabilities that appeal to large manufacturers managing sensitive intellectual property and supply-chain data.
Scale and precedent
OpenAI characterized the Samsung rollout as one of its largest enterprise deals by headcount, though neither company disclosed specific employee numbers covered or contract terms. Samsung's adoption follows similar moves by Moderna, PwC, and other Fortune 500 firms integrating OpenAI tools into internal workflows. The deployment scope suggests tens of thousands of active users spanning engineering, product development, and corporate functions.
